The effective provision of personalised support to people living with dementia is one of Scottish Local Government's foremost priorities and COSLA is delighted to be serving on the judging panel for a new awards scheme for Scotland's dementia care services. A partnership between Alzheimer Scotland, NHS Education for Scotland, NHS Health Scotland and Scottish Social Services Council launched the new awards scheme on the 15th May.
Scotland's Dementia Awards will celebrate the work of both professionals and community groups who are committed helping people with dementia and their families. COSLA will be represented on the judging panel for the awards which will showcase the creativity, innovation and dedication that make a real difference to the daily lives of people with dementia and their families across Scotland when organisations, groups and teams work together.
The awards are open for entries and winners will be announced at a ceremony in September 2012. Further information, including who can enter, award categories, and how to apply can be accessed from the awards web-site.
