COSLA RESPONSE TO EIS RELEASE ON DEMOCRATIC ACCOUNTABILITY REMAINING KEY TO DELIVERY OF EDUCATION AS A PUBLIC SERVICE

COSLA welcomes the EIS response to the Scottish Government’s Consultation on Education Governance. We note that the EIS, like many of their counterpart associations, have found no reason to remove local democratic accountability for education and instead have focused on improvements to be delivered at national level. COSLA will continue to work with our teachers, headteachers and communities to improve education delivery within a ‘whole child’ approach – providing essential services of which education is only one.
