COSLA RESPONSE TO SCOTTISH GOVERNMENT CONSULTATION ON UNCONVENTIONAL OIL AND GAS

Councillor Stephen Hagan, COSLA Development, Economy and Sustainability Spokesperson said:

“Local government recognises the level of concern that can exist in communities about use of unconventional technologies to extract oil and gas. The consultation will lay out the evidence for and against and like others we will be studying what has been published carefully. However, if ultimately there is to be a future for these technologies in Scotland then we want to make sure that the views of local people are firmly taken on board.”
