A COSLA Spokesperson commented: “Schools are committed to improving the outcomes and wellbeing of children by offering the support and services they need when they need them. To ensure this is possible, Local Authorities and NHS boards require adequate funding and resource so that access to services such as mental health support is offered in a timely manner.

"We are working with the Scottish Government to develop the scope of the review of Personal and Social Education (PSE), pastoral support and access to counselling services in Local Authority schools, which is one of the actions in the mental health strategy.”
