COSLA RESPONSE ON CARE HOMES STANDARDS

A COSLA Spokesperson said: “COSLA welcomes the Care Inspectorate figures which show that standards in care homes have been increasing steadily over the past three years. However, and despite this steady improvement, we recognise that there is still room for some improvement.

"We are working with providers, Integration Authorities, the Scottish Government, and other key stakeholders on a programme of reform to begin to address these challenges and to ensure that the substantial resources being invested in care homes goes into improving quality and outcomes for people.

"Local Government also offers significant additional advice and staff to care homes in order to support improvement.”
