The 2017 COSLA Excellence Awards have honoured eight Scottish Councils and their partners for outstanding quality of service to the public.
Glasgow City, East Renfrewshire, and Renfrewshire all took first place in their award categories, alongside a double win for North Ayrshire Council. Dundee City Council scooped the Chairman’s Award, while Clackmannanshire Council achieved the Excellent People, Excellent Outcomes Award. Stirling Council picked up the SOLACE Best Team Award, and Aberdeenshire Council won the Scottish Government Award for Delivering Excellence.

COSLA President, Councillor Alison Evison, described the entries for the awards this year as inspiring:

“The COSLA Excellence Awards sum up what Scottish Councils are all about – passionate and determined staff working hard to improve their communities, whatever the challenges”.

“Every one of our finalists has set new standards in their field, and developed exciting ways of working with their communities to meet their priorities. We have witnessed some amazing projects, and the results are already changing lives. All those who took part should be very proud indeed”.

“The 2017 COSLA Excellence Awards are helping to build on real life success stories like these across the country. Where these projects are leading, others will follow, and that makes the future very bright.”
