COSLA comment on council housing waiting lists

A COSLA Spokesperson said: "Scotland’s Councils, and the housing sector more generally, are committed to ensuring those people living with a disability, mobility issues and the elderly are appropriately housed.

"Increasing the supply of affordable homes for rent locally will assist Councils in meeting the requests for more appropriate housing. Councils, along with strategic partners in the housing sector, are working tirelessly to ensure 50,000 affordable homes are completed.

"Strategic Housing Investment Plans (SHIPs) are prepared by Councils and set out strategic investment priorities for affordable housing, these plans take account the needs of those living locally - including those living with a disability, mobility issues and the elderly. These plans are reviewed by Scottish Government and feedback acted upon as appropriate."
