COSLA comment on recycling charter

A COSLA Spokesperson said: “Scotland’s Councils are fully committed to recycling and have a good record in doing so. Some of the issues raised are recognised by local government.

“We have, as a joint initiative between local and Scottish Government, developed the Household Recycling Charter to address this issue -  a more uniform waste collection system, to further improve recycling.

“Once this is fully rolled out across Scotland, your recycling will be collected in the same type of bin, whether you are in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Oban or Tiree.

“The Charter is a commitment to further improve councils’ waste services, to achieve a more uniform waste collection service across the country, and to build upon improve collection rates. The majority of local authorities have now signed up to the Charter.”
