COSLA response to Audit Scotland's report on children's mental health

COSLA President Councillor Alison Evison said: "COSLA welcomes the report and will work with partners to consider the recommendations made. As noted in the report, the newly established Children and Young People’s Task Force reports to both Scottish Government and COSLA.

"Local Authorities and Integration Authorities see mental health as their issue as much as an issue for NHS services and are therefore keen to work, in line with the principles of GIRFEC and ensuring a whole system approach, towards joint solutions.

"The report recognises the need to focus on early intervention and prevention, and COSLA will continue to encourage the Task Force to frame their work around The Christie Commission’s four pillars of public service reform; prevention, performance, people and partnership."
