Fife has a population of 370,330 (NRS - 2016) and covers an area that is bounded to the north by the River Tay and to the south by the River Forth. Whilst the south and west is dominated by larger urban areas and an industrial economy, the east is predominantly agricultural and there are a number of attractive small fishing villages along the east coast, which are important tourist/visitor destinations.
