Response to Supreme Court Ruling

A COSLA Spokesperson said, in response to the Supreme Court ruling published on Thursday 28 July on the role of the Named Person:

"This is a complex issue and we are taking the opportunity to study the Supreme Court decision. However what we can say immediately is that the aims and intentions of the named person scheme are laudable in their intent and COSLA remains committed to working in partnership with the Scottish Government to deliver on these intentions for the children and young people who will benefit."

Local Government family unite around Education

Ahead of the Scottish Government’s Summit on education later this week, education experts from across the system today urged the Scottish Government to proceed with caution and take those with the expertise with them.
