COSLA's Children and Young People Spokesperson, Councillor Tony Buchanan and Community Wellbeing Spokesperson, Councillor Maureen Chalmers have jointly commented on Challenge Poverty Week:

"This Challenge Poverty Week, we want to repeat councils’ unwavering commitment to supporting people, including children who live in poverty in Scotland. This is a top priority for councils particularly as we continue to see the stark impact of the cost-of-living pressures on individuals, families and communities.

“As local government, we will continue to work closely with our partners. This includes both charities and public bodies who fight poverty and its effects.  We will deliver key services and work in new ways, to support the best possible outcomes for our people and communities."
