Carers Week 2025 takes place from the 9th to the 15th of June. The theme this year is ‘Caring about Equality.
’This theme reflects the importance of ensuring carers are valued, recognised and supported.
Each day of Carers Week will focus on ensuring equality in a different area of carers’ lives, from health and social care to work and employment, and for both younger and older carers.
Carers Week is also an opportunity to recognise carers’ invaluable contributions and connect more carers to sources of support.
All the resources for Carers Week can be found on the Carers Week website.
COSLA’s Health and Social Care Spokesperson, Cllr Paul Kelly, commented:
"Three in five of us will take on a caring responsibility in our lifetime. Every single day, carers enable people they care for to get the most out of life, and I would like to thank each carer for their vital contributions to the health and social care system. I recognise that there is still a long way to go to ensure equality for all carers and am committed to working with local and national partners to achieve this.
"I encourage us all to take the time this Carers Week to consider what more we can do to support carers in our communities. I also encourage carers to explore the range of Carers Week activities in their local areas, to connect with fellow carers and find advice and support.”
