COSLA, The Promise Scotland and Scottish Government have released a joint statement, following a report published by Audit Scotland and the Accounts Commission on care experience and keeping the promise.
Following the report and joint statement being published today (Wednesday 8th October) Children and Young People Spokesperson, Councillor Tony Buchanan, said:
"We welcome the recent briefing from Audit Scotland and the Accounts Commission. There is significant work ahead to realise meaningful change by 2030. Councils have been working with partners to improve Scotland’s care system for a number of years, and we are proud of the dedication shown by our workforce. They support our children and young people every day while driving forward system-wide transformation.
“The joint initiative—Stories of Progress—led by Local Government, Scottish Government, and The Promise Scotland, will be key in demonstrating how these changes are experienced by children and young people.
“We will fully consider the recommendations alongside partners in Scottish Government, the Promise Scotland, and other public sector organisations who have a vital role to play in improving the lives of our care community.”
