Corporate Policy Team

The Corporate Policy Team leads on the core COSLA strategic objective of strengthening local democracy.

It helps provide an underpin for the overall work that COSLA does on behalf of our member Councils to ensure that Local Government in Scotland in properly and fairly recognised for all that it does as an equal sphere of the country’s democratic governance. The team aims to provide cohesion internally between policy teams and business units in achieving the aims as set out in the COSLA plan and in accordance with the Verity House Agreement.

The Corporate Policy Team works closely with the Presidential Team to deliver on these priorities and supports them across a number of events and networks.

The Corporate Policy Team has responsibility for The Barriers to Elected Office Special Interest Group and the Innovating, Developing and Transforming Special Interest Group.
