The COSLA Spring Conference took place on Friday 27th March at the COSLA Conference Centre. It opened with remarks from the COSLA President, Councillor Shona Morrison, and an update from Office Bearers, setting out key organisational priorities. A session on the future of public service workforce followed, led by Local Government Information Unit (LGIU)'s Chief Executive, Jonathan Carr-West, with contributions from Roz Foyer, General Secretary at the Scottish Trade Union Congress, exploring long‑term workforce challenges and opportunities.
A multi‑party political hustings, chaired by journalist, broadcaster and presenter Halla Mohieddeen, brought together representatives from Scottish Labour, SNP, the Scottish Greens, Scottish Liberal Democrats, Scottish Conservatives and Reform UK to discuss their positions on local government issues. The conference formally closed with political pre‑meetings and then the COSLA Convention. Delegates had opportunities throughout the Conference to visit the marketplace and engage with exhibitors.
