“I am encouraged that all Teachers’ Panel unions have agreed to take our latest strong pay offer to their respective members for consideration.

“Throughout this year’s pay discussions, COSLA has listened carefully to the Teachers’ Panel and has now made a credible two-year offer which responds to the requests of our trade union partners. This new proposal improves on our previous offer.

“This pay package is at the absolute limit of affordability in an extremely challenging financial context, fully utilising all the funding available to local authorities as well as additional funding provided by the Scottish Government. /

“It reflects the high value that Council Leaders place on Scotland’s teachers and the vital work they do to educate and support our children and young people.

“We strongly encourage all eligible employees to take part in the vote and accept the offer, securing a swift settlement and pay uplift."
