Cllr Maureen Chalmers, COSLA Community Wellbeing Spokesperson, stated:

“Today’s figures are sadly disappointing, confirming that homelessness affects every community across the country and we recognise the devastating impact on families and individuals.

Local Government is committed to providing housing that meets the needs of our communities and we are working with the Scottish Government and other partners to take forward significant and enhanced actions to respond to the housing crisis, but regrettably there is no quick fix.

Council Leaders have recently developed a set of medium and long term housing actions which I believe, if fully taken on board, could alleviate Scotland's housing pressures.  We will continue to press our partners to see them delivered’
