SQA Exam Results 2026

COSLA Children and Young People Spokesperson Cllr Tony Buchanan has commented as pupils across Scotland receive exam results:

“Congratulations to all those across Scotland receiving results today. I know a great deal of effort goes into working towards qualifications, supported by your teachers, school staff, peers, parents, and carers.

I hope you are feeling proud of your efforts today. If you’re feeling disappointed, remember that you’re not alone, and there’s plenty of support out there to help you explore the next steps towards achieving your goals. We know that sometimes the results you receive might not be what you hoped and may leave you feeling disappointed and worried. If you are feeling this way, the best thing you can do is reach out for help and talk to someone. There are lots of people and organisations who want to help, many of them are listed on this page.

Whatever your results, there really is #NoWrongPath, as shown by the many different routes people take into successful careers. Advice and support are available, and I would encourage you to visit My World of Work for guidance on next steps and future opportunities. If you’re considering a career in the public sector myjobscotland's Career Hub also offers a range of vacancies, career information, and practical advice to help you take the next step in your journey.”
